Hello world!

This is my first blog entry for the fantastic PRWeb East Coast Running Team! Since I pretty much forced everyone to join the club, it will be my goal to stay as enthusiastic as humanly possible about our first (but certainly not last) 5K race, to happen sometime between April and May 2008. I started this blog (at Scott’s suggestion) so that everyone could post comments about their daily running/exercise progress. Chris even mentioned (with glee) that she ran three miles this afternoon without even meaning to! Great, this 5K is gonna be a cake walk! Soon we can move on to 10-milers and even triathlons! Just kidding…(please don’t quit the team).
Okay, I’ll start…

Week #1; Wednesday: I meant to run 10 miles today after work, but it was so freaking cold. First my fingers froze together, then my ears went numb, and finally, my nose lost all feeling…so I cut it short by two miles. I know that’s a pretty bad thing to admit in the first fantastic PRWeb East Coast Running Team blog entry, but there it is. Tomorrow I’m gonna have Chris or Robin save me a tread mill in the gym so I don’t have to face the Arctic chill again. I just have to beat the gang of old men who hog the machines all at the same time and pretty much just walk for about 12 miles each!

So that’s it for my Wednesday run. I can’t wait to hear all about everyone else’s workouts :)

  1. Only eight miles on the first day….Amber, this is not a good start. Where’s the motivation? So I guess this means I can shorten my run down to 1?

  2. Remaining as enthusiastic as possible probably isn’t the best way to keep Chris around.

That said, on Wednesday, I ate pizza and waited for the cable guy.

But Monday, I joined a gym, and Tuesday, I met with a personal trainer to begin a circuit training program. My goal is to get skinny to eat Chik Fil A every day. A nice byproduct would be to help our team become the fastest in DC!

  3. I ran 4.4 miles yesterday in 40 minutes. I am glad we are running 5k’s b/c i cant run long distances. I get bored. I will be yoga’ing today. You bitches should join!

  4. Maybe we can get sponsored by Chick fil-A! For every mile we run, free meals…seems a good deal to me!

  5. But only if someone runs in the cow costume…

  6. I’ve been really good! I actually went on the elliptical thing for 4 mile yesterday.. but I’m not sure that counts as a running equivalent. Anyway, I’ll be yoga’ing today for whover is going.

  7. yeah, the perky thing might be hazardous to the Coach’s health. She’ll be running, but it will be away from me as I pelt her w/ empty chick-fil-a wrappers.

  8. Ok, point taken! Then for my own well being, I will refrain from using so many exclamation marks :) (Can I still use smiley faces?)

  9. Ok so I have a meeting and need to skip Yoga… so if anyone is up for the gym later let me know!

  10. I’ll be a gym rat today too

  11. Lemme know when your first 5K is happening. We’ll be cheering you on from the Ferndale office. WTG! Hugs,

  12. there is a great internal debate as to whether or not I will make an appearance. If the three Excedrin I take kick in, then I shall be gettin’ sweaty with you guys.

  13. I showed off my awesomeness at yoga today. I suggest people videotape me working out and take notes. Everyone needs to have an idol.
